Low Impact...

I had my follow-up appt with the podiatrist today regarding the tendonitis in my right foot.  She said it all looks good and that I can start up with low impact cardio workouts (elliptical trainer, spinning, swimming), but no jogging/running yet for another 3-4 weeks.   So I won't be running the Fiesta Flambeau parade this year :(  I truly enjoy running this event.  It is the event that inspired me to take up running in the first place. (See here)   I've come to think of this run as the "kick-off" to my summer training for the fall/winter marathons.

Oh well...  I will heed the advice of the professionals because my goal is to run the Marathons of Texas this year in addition to the Rock 'n Roll San Antonio in November.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Good to hear you are getting better. I have hardly been able to do any training lately because of my arms and my allergies. My best friend and I are planning though to do some extra training in the afternoons from now in. We'll see how that goes.
Just take it easy now and don't overdo it.

  2. Wow, ran my first 5k a few months ago and while I would love to to run another or maybe even a 10k, I have NO desire to run a marathon...good luck with that!
